Im from Dallas and have been listening to Devin's work for a few years now. I enjoy many other metal bands as well as some classical and a bit of johnny cash on the side!

First, I'm glad to be here, from what I read so far it seems like an awesome place. Also, the boards are Freakin' Huge.
My first album of Devin Townsend's work was a copy of Alien, and I fell in love with it immemememdiately.(not a typo)
Anyway, After listening to it 2489712987342 times, I said to myself, "There's gotta be more of this somewhere!"
To say Dev is my favorite artist is an understatement, there's not a single album he's made that I can stop listening to.
After I heard "enough"(lol.) I went out and got myself a guitar, and this enhanced my appreciation of Syl and Dtb even more.
I had played piano and drums before, but now there's nothing like the feel of a guitar in my hands.
As for Devin Townsend in particular, what makes him my favorite artist is that he truly understands music, that it's an art form and not a tool. Some artists seem to use music as an excuse to show off, but everything in a DT album just ****in fits.
That's IT. Sorry for the life's story. Just glad I found this place
