After not picking up my semi-hollow guitar in a few days, I figured I'd rock out a bit today. But when I plugged in and turned on the power, I'd just get nothing but fuzz and a faint high-pitch squeal. I narrowed down the problem to my guitar (tried it on a different amp and with different cables), and I'm thinking its the input jack. It was all working perfectly fine those few days ago, so I don't know what the hell happened. Anyone know what may be exactly wrong, as well as any possible remedies for this problem? If it'd just be a quick fix without having to take it to a shop or something, that'd be sweet, but I think that's what I may have to do.

Take the back off (or however you get into it) and have a look, check all the connections, make sure nothing is loose or brushing against something it shouldn't be. If it looks too complex, or you can't find anything wrong, you'll have to take it to a shop I'm afraid.

If you mess about with the wiring, there's not a lot you can fuck up really. Nothing that a shop won't fix for a few quid/dollars/euros/whatever. The worst you can do is knock the grounding out of the circuit so you get mild electric shocks - it's not like pissing about with an amp, where you can blow it up or kill yourself.
