I like DR string, awesome

Actually... DR strings were used during Alien. So you're on the right track

Alright, so I got my new strings a few weeks ago, Ernie Ball 0.11-0.54's. The guy at the musicstore called me when he found out I was playing in drop C and recommended that specific string gauge since he plays in drop C himself. Very satisfied so far. Nice twang in them! I also bought a Pod XT, but haven't gotten it yet, should get it this week... Now what I was thinking, I've read alot of reviews of the S520EX and most people said they'd replaced the pickups. I have zero knowledge about pickups. Anyone got any experience with INF1/2 pickups, should I get new ones? Not sure I can afford to experiment with them since I just spent alot of monies on my Pod.

ahaha. ONE year? :)
D'addarios last for about a week with me before starting to sound dull. ( i play a lot :) )

D'Addarios sound a lot more full of life, to me, for a longer period of time than DRs... are you using a floyd or other trem, though? Because D'addarios sound way better on hard tails, whereas all my floyd-using friends swear by DR. DRs sound absolutely lifeless on my guitar, though - because it's a hard tail.

On topic:
Pickups aren't a big deal until you're playing through an amp, and are looking for a more specific tone than your current one. Keep what you have until you've been playing long enough to know whether or not you're personally satisfied with the stock pickups.
Teh Intarwebz, despite their tubes, are not always right. :P

Yeah I'm not happy with the ones I have but with my Pod it's not really much of a deal. I'll get new pickups eventually but can hold it off for a while.

The only thing that upgrading your lead would do is like stop some of the feed back if you use and like a copper insulated lead but thats only if your current lead is a piece of poo and is uninsulated if you get what i mean (just use planet waves) the gact that the plug is spring loaded is great!

scuse me my ignorance, but how exactly cabling affects feedback? And I don't get that "copper insulated lead" part either.

Bah it's been said but I want to reinforce it...

If you're going for longevity, DRs are what you need, you can use them for months without breakage, for sound quality I go for Daddario prosteels, but for all their brightness they seem to die quick, despite my best efforts.
