Yep. As I said to somebody else our brains/eyes are used to scanning from left to right so having the poster's details on the left just feels more 'natural' for most of us. I still find my eyes having a moment of frantic searching to organise the information and see who said what. I guess we COULD get used to it but I wish we didn't have to.

Time will tell if this bugs me more or less. So far it is bugging me more. :?

I also think it's a bit less intuitive for people with European languages for example. Though maybe some people from the Middle East visit here and prefer it this way now? ;)
But I think that it can be changed. Another forum I sometimes visit (to read a bit) also changed to the new version recently if I'm not mistaken and they also had the avatars on the right in the beginning. Now they're on the left again I see (http://www.morbidboard.com/).
Speedwise it's the same for me. No noticeable change (I use Opera as a browser for reference). It was fast then and is fast now.

Something is up with the posting dates on this forum. I swear, I did not make this today: http://www.hevydevyforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=118515#p118515.

And Keeker said she'd noticed some peculiar things with the dates as well but I don't know the details. Or what could possibly cause it.

So those guys actually rewrote it? Kind of drastic just because of the fact that some users didn't like it. Afterwards a few of course said that they got used to the placement on the right :P

Without me reading through all this, has anyone mentioned that if you're not logged in it says there are NO FORUMS? I haven't tried logging in for a while now, at least a few weeks, because I still thought the forum was messed up.

You're right - looks like there's no forums on the frontpage if you aren't logged, just checked that (fortunately I have password remembered in my browser, so didn't noticed that earlier). Some info in large, bold letters about that should do no harm. Huh, and I was wondering why forums are so empty these days.

Also, maybe admins should issue some spam to users about forums being online, probably there's more people oblivious to the fact they work.

I think that' more something for when it's out of 'beta'. You know, when all issues are resolved, we have a skin that doesn't hurt the eyes...

I don't think the Google video tags work. I tried to post a Google video, and although a player showed up in the post (preview at least), it wouldn't play anything, just a blank player.
