i just got a new bass and i want to set it up for CGCG. i have a feeling i might want to take it to a local shop for a setup.... or can i just slap a certain set of strings on it?

just go to the local guitar shop and ask what gauge strings are best then just makes sure the bridge is high enough that it doesent hit the fretboard at all.
