Ok so I've never seen the TV show Lost...so I asked my my mother for the first series for xmas. Unfortunatly she got confused and got me the Part one of Series Two boxset! oh the frustration.

Oh well, its the thought that counts...

All of my presents were complete shit. Here's what I got:

iPod
Some shirts
Recording Equipment (Microphones, mixing board, etc)
An Opeth wall flag
And, the following CDs:

Dethklok - The Dethalbum
Opeth - Damnation
James LaBrie - Elements of Persuasion
Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Strapping Young Lad - Strapping Young Lad
Devin Townsend - Infinity
Devin Townsend - Ziltoid

I was being sarcastic when I said they were all shit, by the way.

I got turtleneck sweater. I hate turtlenecks.

And brand new edition of Dan Simmons' "Hyperion", which is nice. Usually I hate space operas, it's usual all cheese and lotsa pointless gadgets (Zlaxxor and his brave company travels through the galaxy Araxxarr753 to find The Great Dexiglotron - now excuse me while I use half of the book on describing how cool are antigravity cocktail glasses heroes in book use) but this is one of the best books I've ever read.

I share Dunkel's sentiments on presents, though. It's all problems. But last year's "no presents this year" agreement failed, as everybody went shopping after declaration.

I got:

4 CD's
- 1 of which I already have
- 1 of which I don't care much about
- 2 of which I rather wouldn't have had
A book, which I don't have time to read
Shower gel, which smells just horrible
Some spray-on smelly stuff of which I'm not quite sure where to aim it. What the hell is 'fresh deo breeze' supposed to be? :?

And I have to keep fucking smiling

Every year my grandma does the tradition of getting me an awful sweater, and I pretend to be enthusiastic. Then she says "you know, you can always return it if you dont want it".

I don't understand this complaining about receiving presents. Even if they are crappy, we should be lucky to be getting anything!

Some luckier than others.

I will mention movie theater gift cards. I keep getting them every year, but I haven't been to an actual theater in, maybe, 3 years. The average movie-goer is rude and way too hyper. I'd rather watch a movie sitting on my comfy couch with some wine and some lit candles and crowd SILENCE.

Plus, theater seats and floors gross me out.
