Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

1. Some Christmas songs suck.. some are great!
2. I like some winter weather. But from tomorrow onwards it starts to get lighter again!
3. Coloured lights are lovely! All winter festivals feature light, it promises us that the sun will return and new life will start. I think it must nearly be inbuilt in humans.
4. Yes, I agree with this one.. too much about money.
5. Yes, this too.
6. The Word According to Keeker and not Jeebus, eh? Yay me! ( Hell I love that name... the next cat that comes into my life is getting named Jeebus!)
7. Not applicable here then.
8. Feasting is also part of celebrating continuing life in dark mid-winter.
9. Yes, there's hypocrisy but no, people aren't automatically aggressive and egotistical... we have instinctive altruism too.. moreso than aggression.
10. Don't get that here.
11. The evergreen pine tree, holly, ivy, mistletoe, the Yule log.... are all ancient symbols of life, fertility, blah, blah. That's why they're used.
12. I grew up with that from my mother... yes I hated Christmas for that, she was always depressed at Christmas. I've always made sure that my kids hopefully have nothing but happy memories of this time of year. So far it is working!
13. That's stupid.. buy an artificial one.
14. Tell your boss nobody wants to buy a damned car at Christmas! It won't fit under a tree.... except a really big one.
15. Bog off! :D

I don't know about you Keeker, but I live in 2007 (just). Not the time of the Celts and the Vikings.

Just 'cos it's old doesn't mean it isn't a fine thing! :D

PS most of this pre-dates Celts and Vikings.

Oh, and one reason to loves da Christmas: Christmas cards from Dev and Family. Woo hoo!

HERE I am! :D

I'm here to tell you what makes my christmas time pinky perfect!

First of all, I am a real material girl. I want and I need stuff around
me to keep me happy and fulfilled with love.
And for my family it has been always the warm-hearted way to show
our caring, buying soft, fluffy presents and something we just have been
craving for the whole year.
And it's the one time of the year I can ask for something I can't afford on my own

I also love spending time with my family and even with all that cleaning
stress and tree decorating stress this time always gives it's still a precious
time for us.

So, this divides me to half.
On the other hand, I love the family time we get to spend,
but also the religious side and the horrible must-spend-money-fest it is
now, frightens and makes me nausious.
And I know there are a lot other ways to show close people that you care,
but personally I love presents and gift cards

And many of my friends earn their christmas present moneys by
performing as Santas, so if we delete christmas, many job will be lost!

14. And yeah, people get days off from work. Except the people who work for car dealerships or furniture malls. Guess where I work (I'll give one hint: It's a car dealership).

15. Oh and I don't think the Townsends still send the cards out. I remember Tracy saying that it was too much work, especially with Reyner around.

What the hell kind of a job is working at a car dealership? Surely there must be better jobs around, even if it is in Eindhoven.
I work at a movie theater, which sucks ass, but I get free movies and free days when I want to.

I like my job, and it's only for Saturdays. And actually, we're not even opened with Christmas ;) But most car dealerships and furniture malls are.

Free cars?

No?

Biert, I am going to send you all of my warm Christmas thoughts and cheery cheer, and hopefully that will help you somewhat. OR maybe you don't want my help. Regardless, I'm sending you the thoughts and cheer anyways. And you will like it. Oh yes...you will. If not, I'll MAKE you like it, and you will be grateful, because it's f*#@ing Christmas, and we must be happy and filled with love for one another this holiday season. Sunshine and happiness for you!

So when does the admin change Biert's name to Grinch?

Or maybe Ebenezer Biert...

Move to Australia, Biert. We have all the Christmas crap you do, but it's hot. Christmas here for us is prawns, beer, cricket in the backyard or street, a mid-afternoon snooze and if you live by the coast, a swim at the beach later in the day.

Bliss!

I was actually all set to get in the mood this year, I figured what the hell, why not just be cheerful instead of bitter, as long as it makes me feel better. Then, within the first week of Dec., my car broke down and it's gonna take lots and lots of moolah to fix, so everyone's gonna have to settle for a nicely wrapped pinecone and some free ketchup packets for xmas, cuz thats the best that I can afford.

I find that it's best to not really 'hate' anything, because you're still dedicating your effort into it. Just be passive and say 'who cares?'

We'll get through yet another miserable winter, and we'll be back to warmer weather in a few months in no time, and for some of us, when those dog days of summer come around, we'll be sweating our balls off and wishing it were winter again! Ahhh well, such is life. :D

Christmas is getting abit old for me. Everyone seems to have lost all notion of what its all about and instead wastes money on shit they dont want or need. Bringing the family together is the only important thing about Christmas, and of course think of others less fortunate.

Still, its the only time where we can feed our faces with awesome food, catch up with the family and of course see how drunk your uncle can get then try and pick up a chick, which he then finds out later on in the night she's related to him and the family. lol! Classic shit. :P

Anyway, Christmas blows in many ways, but it does bring family together and every else for that matter. It would be good if Christmas was everyday...aside from the crazy flashing lights, shitty trees and those awful carols which seriously need to be replaced with some decent power metal , then we wouldn't have to worry about people fighting and people would actually share and not be fat greedy bastards like they are every other day of the year.

If all else fails come to Australia and have Christmas here.
