Im going on a holiday soon, so I need all the money I can get, hence such a low price for a game which isn't even in Australia yet.

Yes, it is a NTSC game. But it does work on any PAL or NTSC console as it is a region free game.

In some cases, yes. But if its region free it will work. Most games nowadays are region free to protect from people chipping their systems and losing money in copyrighting material. The only games which wont work on either system is Japanese games, or NTSC-J. Xbox360 has certain limitations with games, while PS3 is entirely a region free system, so anything will work on it.

Since their written differently they can't be read at all on either system, but certain games on NTSC and PAL system will work if there region free.

http://www.play-asia.com will show you which games are region free.
