And, welcome! :D

basically, i wanted a name that no one could easily bias to use online, yet had a connection to me or something about me.

i thought about it for a week or so, and i came up with a bunch of different words that related to music, zodiac signs/astrology in general, science, film editing, legends, so on.

I finally settled on using azurite, as in, the stone. yes, as is stereotyped, stones = jewelry and are thus womanly, not something i automatically think of, but many people do. that's why I added the "reaction" at the end of my name; it's supposed to give off the impression that the stone's qualities are having a "reaction" on my being, especially some of the ones that involve health, and thus remove some of the "jewelry" stereotype.

here's a list of some of the qualities i picked it for;

-colored a soft, deep blue (my favorite color, and in greek, the exact translation for this stone is part of one of my old usernames)

-the stone is said to invoke psychic, "3rd eye" abilities; taken from a site, it says this, quoted;

"Stimulates psychic abilities. Amplifies healing and meditation experiences. Opens third eye. Cuts through illusion, enhances communication."

Ever since i've been even a little child, people have came to me for advice because they've said that within minutes, i can see through them so to speak, and be able to read them like books. My mom basically fed me psychology books when I was young; yet i hate labeling people. This caused me to be able to "read" people, but help them with problems like a human, not with a label or by "diagosing" their situation with someone or personal problems etc.

All of that pretty much ties into that inner ability; in a few psychological tests i've taken, i've always turned up as the type that could read people, or that people opened up to almost immediately (that's pretty much what everyone says stands out about me the most, is that within minutes they feel that they can talk to me about anything for some bizarre reason), etc.

but yeah, so i found that stone to be a perfect reaction to me; the healing part comes in too, as i've had both a heart attack and a benign tumor before I turned 15 years old, yet i play tennis, drums, sing, do film work (a lot more physical than you'd think haha), and so on, so i heal pretty quickly/abnormally also.

not meaning to rant on about myself there, but i toldja it'd be a description, haha

I'm assuming this is the newbie introduction thread, so I'll say 'hi' here.

I'm KJ, 25, from England, a would be live sound engineer and tour manager, worked with many bands in the UK, currently working with some (which I'm fearful of mentioning incase I'm accused of spam!).

First Devy album I got was Alien, on a whim, then Synchestra, also on a whim, then gradually filling my collection as I love the variety, from the beauty to the brutality. I love progressive sounding records and Terria has become one of my favourite albums of all time.

My absolute favourite band is pitchshifter, a digital punk rock band that is sadly on hiatus due to burnout (they have been doing stuff since 1989 up to 2002). They play the occasional live show, but don't really get together to do new material. They might collaborate over the internet, put together an EP and give it away free to those who come to their occasional show, but that's it.

Other favourite bands (too many to mention them all) include Twin Zero, dRAWBACKS, This Is Menace, SikTh, Oceansize.

Will eventually put a band together, but have been surprisingly busy.

Cool, think that will do, no need for a full blown biography :)

I'm a n00b. Both to Devin (though I did play No Sleep Til Bedtime in its entirety on my university campus radio station several years ago) and the forum. Hi.

I'm from Canada too, eh. But I live in LA now. I don't miss shovelling snow at all. Plus, Canada has shitty Mexican food.

Hi all, finally decided to register to this place. I'm here to increase the number of finnish fans on the board...ok, I'm not very good at this introducing since in other forums I've just started to post but first time for everything, right?

*waits nervously for the welcoming committee*

Hola. I mainly registered here to get some insight as to which versions of Devin's CDs to buy. I hate buying albums and then finding a cooler bonus edition.
