I just downloaded the new Firefox for my PC at work and it's probably the best thing I could have done for this POS machine. It's only crashed a couple times while my IE was crashing 4 or 5 times a day.

I have the new version on my iMac at home, and it pops up as a drive on my desktop and now it's giving me a question mark when I try to click it on my tools at the bottom. Anyone know what this is about? I would rather just be able to click it on my tool bar rather than having to go through my applications on my hard drive.

Get a proper computer :D

Since when have you had this problem? And what kind of iMac do you have (Intel x86 or IBM PowerPC?) Maybe it has something to do with upgrading from a PPC-only version to a universal binary?

Or maybe it's just as easy as a broken link. Try removing the icon from the tools-menu and reinstalling Firefox, it should place a new icon there, which should point to the proper location.

I'm not a Mac specialist by a long shot so I could be way off :P

remove the existing version from the dock and drag the new version in it's place.

the question mark is because it's trying to load an application it can't find.

So Firefox 3 is about to be unleashed onto the world! I've been using it for a while (since beta 3, up to release candidate 2) and I like it a lot.
There have been a whole bunch of improvements, such as:
  • More standard-compliant
  • More secure
  • Faster
  • Less memory usage
  • Interface improvements
  • New download manager
  • Combined Bookmarks and History
  • In total more than 14,000 improvements!!!

The official release for Firefox 3 is planned somewhere halfway June. And to celebrate that, and its 10th anniversary, Mozilla are organizing a World Record attempt. They want to achieve 5 million downloads in 1 day, and make it into the Guiness Book of World Records!! If you go to http://www.spreadfirefox.com you can 'pledge' to participate. You will receive an email once your download is ready. Do what you have to do, pledge now, improve the web and most of all, enhance your browsing experience! :D

I haven't seen it since Beta 5, so I'm looking forward to it. I hated it back then, but 90% of that was because none of my extensions worked

The final version of Firefox 3 should arrive today (June 17). Remember to download your copy (or a couple of them ;)).

I guess they'll release it in a US timezone though, could take a couple of hours until it's there.

I love Firefox. Whenever I fix someone's PC, I install it with AdBlock Plus.

Added a few extensions listed in this thread, thanks. I usually don't bother with much, but figured it might be fun.
