Yeah I wanted to vote for them just for fun, but the guy guarding the phone in this house wouldn't let me. Bulgaria got our vote instead.. I kind of liked the ethnic thing they had going there.

Apocalyptica's performance was feckin' savage! The usual tradition of countries voting for their neighbours is really strong this year..

At this moment:
Ireland - 0
:D

Cos we have no neighbours! Huzzah for being an island!! (The fact that our song was shit has nothing to do with it, I swear.)

Yeah, none of the eastern block is voting for us westerners at all yet. hehehe, we knew that would happen though. Place your bets as to whether UK gives Ireland a few points.

LOL and we're second last. Ewww, Serbia won.. I didn't like that one at all (Mr Wogan says the lady singer looks like Lou Costello). So long as all this block voting goes on we'll never stand a chance again, no matter how good the song. <sigh> However I congratulate the Finns.. their stage production was excellent and Apocalyptica was indeed a brilliant show.... even the guy that swallowed the flourescent light.

I consider The Monster Show simply a crap version of The Monsterican Dream. They peaked at Blood Red Sandman though, and went downhill from there I think.

Did ye see the guy in the bubble during Apocalyptica? I turned over from 28 Days Later to watch, he ate a big light thing and you could see it in his tummy!!! Eeeeee!

Yeah, we have done for years. We get Terry Wogan's commentary. They tried using an Aussie commentator once but poor Des Mangan was howled out of the job as it's just not the same without Terry! Watched a fair chunk of it last night, but as often happens I got bored about half way through and turned it back on to watch the voting.

I like the Serbian idea of stacking a bunch of "babes" behind the plain girl to pretty it up a little. Subtle? The Serbian song was pretty forgettable but she was an ok singer I suppose.

Looks like Eurovision will be living in the East from now on.

To me personaly there's something profoundly wrong with the picture of a half naked male stroking a cello while standing, I dunno  Must be some form of my gay side, repressed on a whole deeper level I never knew existed, trying to deny the inherent sexyness of that imagery or something. :D

I liked Bulgaria's 'act'.
Almost psy-tranceish.

I found that Apocalyptica performance pretty disappointing. I mean, the music sounds kind of cool and all. But, what's with the whole Cirque du Soleil stuff going on? Can't the song stand on it's own without all the added stuff going on? Is it that hard to entertain the audience with the music so you have to distract them with all that shit?

At least the Ukraine was honestly rediculous. Apocalpytica looks like they're taking themselves pretty seriously.
