rest helps ever so much =D. ziltoid will never become a mainstream acceptance anyway, we won't let it! apart from that, have a good break from the work and crack down onto something else you love doing =]. fairwell Mister Devin Townsend, for now.
Thanks for clearing this up and putting our minds at ease Devin. There was only a slight hint of panic around the forums
One day, I shall be a millionaire and I shall pay Devin a lot of money to play an extensive tour in my backyard. Luxurious hotel and everything. Because he deserves it.

Enjoy your life, you're still pretty young
I'll be waiting for your music for as long as needed

Thanks for the clarification Dev, it's all about the music and I doubt you've got it in you to stop anyway so I don't know why I was worried!
You feel burnt out just now, and I'm guessing you felt like that during the show at Download, which was by far the best live experience I've had. If you in a burnt-out state is better than the 100's of other bands I've seen then I can't wait for the next time when you're really up for it!
You're a born entertainer so I hope it isn't too long, but take as long as you need man, we're the ones in debt to you, not the other way round.

I respect whatever decision you decide to make with your music carreer, as its your life in the end
but such news makes me depressed a little, as never before i have known such an interesting creative force such as yours Devin
and it is truly a wonderful thing to take a trip trough your work, it shows so much diversity and creativity, and yet it remains so very appealing to me
we've been spoiled with so much content, and for myself, you are the first artist to commit such a personal relation with the fans, wich makes it all the more real, even though i've never met you and probably never will
Whatever you do decide it your own decision, and you need think of yourself and your familly first
im sure all your true fans will support you whatever that is

If you don't grok it, drokk it!
As long as more albums are forthcoming, it doesn't really bother me that there will be no tours or interviews for a long while...
All the best then Devin, whatever you do you have my unconditional support. Thank you for all the music as well, you are hands down the most consistently awesome & inspiring musician I've ever listened to, & I'm already pumped up for your future projects!

I know where you're at Master Dev. I, myself, am thirty years old and after spending 12 years doing the whole: move to a major metropolis -> go to college, bust ass and graduate well -> work a corporate 9-to-5 to become "accomplished" & make money and obtain things to impress people who in the end don't give a shit or notice you're alive -> while spending all my spare time trying to hone my creative outlets and get, by in large, ignored my the millions of people around me -> and generally get nowhere personally, socially, or career wise... I decided a few months ago to sell my house, my cars, and most of my other worldly possessions and move up to my family's camp in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York for a sabbatical of indeterminate duration. You just get to a point where what you're getting out of life just isn't making you happy, and you say, "Fuck it... I just can't win (or even get out of the gate)!" and have to try to find another way.
I applaud your decision and hope that your change-up does wonderful things for your own happiness... tenfold! Your true fans will always be here and we'll mail order your music from the ends of the earth. Stay Devy!

hey dev, kind words from everyone, huh? we love you, man. do what you want and find your peace. it's good to hear that you're keeping all opportunities open but take the time and space you need.
a lot of bands fucked it up because they didn't
anyway, journalism is one thing, but on the other hand, it's always really interesting to read your thoughts on music and what motivates you. so i think i speak for most of us when i say it would be nice to hear some words from you every now and then. nothing too big, so the blabbermouthers would rant about it, but... oh well, whatever. do your thing
ah yes, and this here makes a great quote:
seconded!

cool bands!
http://www.myspace.com/knorkesuedfrucht --> happy heavy pardy shit with a good shot of folk and a maniacal attitude
http://www.myspace.com/parityboot --> the more serious industrial metal stuff. loaded with samples, groove and atmosphere, rather syl-ish

Just a smidgen..

Cheers for the clarity on the matter, Dev. I certainly look forward to the new music which'll be on our way in the future. Hope you enjoy your rest. God knows you deserve it at this stage.
