Heh I actually considered getting a really big Opeth-O on my back with henna last vacation. But I didn't have an example so decided not to :P

I have big Opeth O tattoo on my back :D

Yeah but like I said, I don't like real tattoos. The henna kind is OK because it fades away after a couple of weeks/months.

PS: I demand a picture nevertheless :P

I guess I could see getting one as like a "trial run" to see if you really hate it after 2 weeks and not getting an actual tattoo... kinda... I don't really see the point either.

I meant bigger. I meant, as big as it could possibly get on my back :P

Henna tattoos are OK because they are only temporary. For fun. Not forever. Like I said before, I think tattoos are a disfigurement for the human body. As long as that's only a couple of weeks I could live with it (I do stupid things all the time :P ) but I would never want to be stuck with one for the rest of my life.
How the hell are you going to explain that big "O" on your back to your grandchildren when you're 80 and the guys in Opeth have well passed 80?

Are you sure you're not 80? :P

It's the logo of a band that had a profound effect on me in my youth and made music that made me feel something deep inside...

that sounds cheesey, but I get your point.

If you continue that argument to the nth degree, body building/sculpting, dental work, hair removal, surgery, clipping your nails, piercings etc. are all forms of disfigurement of the human body. I guess the question is does it really matter if you alter your body for aesthetic purposes? I guess it does to you.

As for the big "O", you lead a different life to me if you regularly see the naked backs of blokes over 80:

"Hey little Johnny, finish scrubbing my wrinkly, 80 year old back and I'll tell you a story about that tattoo you've been staring at."

I have to thank Biert for bringing this "when I'm 80" thingy up - your reactions to it are just hilarious

You are a square for disliking tattoos. But as that awful band Huey Lewis and the News once said.... *trails off*

Nonsense. Ever had a dental nerve dying?
hair removal

Nope.
surgery

You must be kidding!?
clipping your nails

Not really.
piercings

Yes, absolutely!
are all forms of disfigurement of the human body.

Tattoos are basically what you make of them. If your gonna pick something stupid off of a wall just to do it then obviously you don't understand the severity of tattooing. You're gonna get tired of it pretty quickly and its VERY expensive to get them removed.

I have twenty-four tattoos and counting now and I don't feel any regret from any of them. They are pieces of what makes me who I am. Actually, a lot of them are representations of my poetry whether by words or pictures or abstract shapes.

And no, you're not a square for not liking them. They aren't for everybody.
