me too! I don't like Vortex's vocals at all, actually. Well, in small amounts it's ok but I just cannot stand his voice throughout an entire Album.

I can... I got into Arcturus through Sideshow Symphonies as a result of liking Vortex's voice on Dimmu Borgir's 'Progenies of the Great Apocalypse'. I think he's a very good singer, but still fails in comparison to Garm.

Mastodon: Blood Mountain

This is a really good disc. I'd heard a lot of bad stuff about them, but I can't figure out why. A lot of classic prog elements, a few Iron Maiden moments, and a good dose of metal, all with an excellent drummer. A good listen.
