i find it to be a GREAT album
and really unique, especially since it´s technically coming from a black metal background in the deep past

but anyway, Ulver to me is a completely different aproach to music, they´re not building notes and etcetera, they´re molding sounds. I´d call it "a sculptor´s approach" more than a "painter´s" approach, if you people can see some reason in that argument

The sculptor analogy works really well, actually-- I usually use a similar approach (except when I'm writing 'standard' music/metal/whatever intentionally), except I just need more work with my chisel.

I think they did occasionally when they were a black metal band (ive seen a live video on you tube). But now I think it would be pysically impossible for them to re-create their music in a live setting.

I don't think Garm is a very big fan of the live environment. As FUBAR said, only early Ulver was toured; when he was the singer in Arctutus for all those years they never did a proper tour and when he was Borknagar's singer back in their early days they didn't tour much either..
