Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

The thing is VR will only simulate the rules of normal reality(money, mortality, gravity, superpowers, pho spiritualism, virtuadrug.)At the moment the ability to proxy via computer is the next development.Very soon VR will be indistinguashable from reality from the user point of view. In fact there will be several methods of advanced interface to augment certain clusters of experience peramaters. The idea of VR even remotely resembling normal reality will be concidered old thinking very soon. The social/human ramifications of this development, along with the fact that it will also be impossable to tell AI from human in these worlds(there will be hundreds of them) will make for interesting tangents of experience we can barely imagine.

"Far Beyond WTF" sounds pretty good.

But yep', I concure with most things said here. And the "game" is damn ugly, and I wonder how they'll keep it "decent" with the technology advance. It'll look more and more contrasted between uber-ugly parts and some using some news types of shaders...

One thing I find "interesting" is the possibility to make money in the game, and turn it into "real" money (well not in China as they have forbidden making money online to avoid any speculation or whatever blablablah economic stuff blablablah $$$ blablablah *falls asleep*)
It's just like the "real" thing (that's still virtual in itself), but in a virtual world, that becomes "real".

 WAKE UP! It isn't the most graphically advanced thing ever, but yeah, it's just a matter of time. The money thing is fascinating, I think. To be honest, I'm tempted to see if I can turn a dollar or two out of it... not out of any great sense of greed (honest! ) but because it's fun to be in at the ground floor of something that has the potential to be huge.

By the way, China's economic policies seem so contradictory it's ridiculous. I work at an international airport and the number of Chinese Amway people pouring through it for a convention was amazing. This selective capitalism thing... how the old school communists can put up with it, I have no idea.

You've got me thinking about cracking out my old William Gibson and Neal Stephenson novels! It's either an exciting time, a scary time or both. I'd probably say both. Noticed the huge emphasis on sex in Second Life? Driven largely by the consumers, as is the case with the web. People want porn and masturbatory experiences, regardless of what else they're doing, it seems! Every second place I walk into is selling a breast rubbing animation or a penis attachment! I'm shocked!

Well that's definately, a big primal desire. One of the ordinary day to day realitys of near future VR is compleat exploitation of the sexual experience...the final 'sexual revolution'.Just to get started want to try being the oposite sex?Every feeling, hormonal mindset, structure weight, of course anatomically. That will be pedestrian.Invent a new sex? No problem. simulated 4 dimentional sexual congress easy multi sexual personallity singular proxy interface(one person orgy) 1st grade.(remember the orgasmatron in the movie sleeper? :) It's all out there 10 minutes into the future

They fell into the loop. They're not putting up with it, they are immersed in it. Money loves money, money makes more money, we need more money, let's make more money. If the church fell for it, why shouldn't the communists. An interesting thought of Slavoj Žižek: why the true enemy today is not the communist Russia, China or North Korea, but harmless islamic states? Because Islam today is the ONLY religion which is incompatible with capitalism! You can fuck over Russia, China and North Korea by offering them goods, stuff or money, but you can't buy off islam because it will scream "infidel!" and charge against you.

You may be right. I haven't been to China to see for myself, though I'd really like to. Fascinating country. The party itself and the government of China has been corrupt virtually from day one at all levels (Animal Farm, human nature blah blah blah).

On Islam: Modern fundamentalist Islam, for sure, and of course it's the Islamic fundamentalist states you're talking about.

I always feel for the moderate Muslims out there who have seen their religion (which was, of course, once a religion of peace, tolerance, understanding and innovation... hehe, as much as any religion can be!) hijacked by zealots, idealogues and murderers.
