I prefer the version from the 1950's. More scarier, more thrilling.

We are Strapping Young Lad from Canada and you are not.

Really? I have only seen part of the original. I am a huuuuge fan of the JC (thats John Carpenter, not Jesus Christ) version. Perhaps my favourite horror film of all time. How does the original compare?
I wish JC would make more stuff like that.

The original one "doesn't know" any special effects BUT the few ones they had, to put that movie in a scary mood, are fantastic. The part when the "Thing" moves through the Arctic looks as scary as the part where it fights against the shepperd (.or Wolf or another dog or whotefakkeva). Actually I don't wanna make the new one sound bad, I just find the old one better.

I was hoping he would do another "Escape" movie, I know that Snake has no where else to escape from...but I do remember a rumor going around that John Carpenter was going to end the series by making Snake escape the earth from some catastrophic event.

The original Thing was wierd in its own way. James Arnes as the alien vegetable thing. THAT is one movie which, if handled right could be a WICKED remake/remake.The THING 21st century.
