I've managed to get two people into Dev. 'Vampira' worked on a friend of mine to a small extent. Then with my girlfriend I got her into SYL first with "Alien". Then moved onto Dev with 'Life' and 'Storm' at first. She wasn't as into it as Strapping at all but I cracked it with 'Christeen'. Persistent pestering pays off.
I usually let them listen to Canada first, and if they like that, I let them choose between whatever album they want... but I always start with Terria (because thats the first album that I heard, and I hope that its the same for them)

Haha, I used the same sequence... my girlfriend could'nt get enough of Christeen when I first played it to her, she started singing it everywhere

What? Have I've been hibernating for the last six years or isn't it only AE and Synchestra that can be counted as DTB?
Sure they play the older Dev stuff live, but those are IMO covers of the earlier projects.
Here I am whining in front of the keyboard eating beef jerky and the sun is shining. Call me lappish and crusify a mouse!

You are weird.
First half of Synchestra, yes. After Vampira, not so much.

You guys have such cool friends. They're so open and reasonable, and honest. My friends will hate any music I like by default.

One of my friends was like that until a few months ago. Then he randomly found a Mike Patton song he liked and now in the past two months he's found himself falling in love with Mr Bungle, Fantomas, John Zorn, Ephel Duath, Devin Townsend Band, and SYL - stuff that I've liked for a while and have tried to get him to like
On the flipside of that, I don't remember the last time he sent me a song that I actually liked.
