Ooh I found a really good reason: Tabbed browsing. Open dozens of webpages in one window. Read, close, and on to the next opened tab! :D
That way you can seriously challenge the forums flood control (which means you can only post twice a minute or something). :P

Firefox - I use it, I enjoy it.

Two years ago I caught a damn trojan on my PC and that was the turning point for me; too many security holes on IE. Now I use Firefox, "Tiny Personal Firewall", "Trojancheck 6 Guard", "AntiVir" and "Spybot". Fuck you trojans and viruses, hahaha!
Not one security problem on my PC since then. At least I know of... :o

The only slight problem are some media player plugins that don't work on Firefox, but I don't care. At least I could deactivate those annoying and processing-power consuming flash-banners.

Firefox - highly recommended.

Ah yes, let's list some mandatory extensions:

AdBlock (or AdBlock plus) Blocks Google Ads, Flash banners and other advertisements
Adblock Filterset.G updater automatic filter updates for AdBlock and AdBlock Plus
Custoize Google Customize Google search results with loads of cool options like links to other search engines
Dictionary Tooltip Looks up the selected word on a dictionary website of your choice
Google Preview Adds preview of websites to Google search results
IE Tab Open a page in a Firefox tab using the Internet Explorer engine
Linkification Turn text links into clickable links
Nuke Anything Remove any object from a page, until you reload
Stumble Upon Load a random website of your interest

Any suggestions?

I use:

IE View (for the pesky site which was only made to work with IE)
Bookmark Backup
Flashblock (with Adblock, you get some serious control over flash displaying AND downloading videos which the developers really made hard to download, or thought you wouldn't be able to   )
Adblock Plus (plus Filt.G)
ChromEdit (allows you to quickly edit User.js)
DownTHEMall! (mass download files from a website, either images or links to images/files)
PDF Download (opens all PDF files through a html converter = you don't need Acrobat Reader to crash the browser randomly, or large pdf's)
Disable Targets for Downloads (doesn't open an empty tab when you download files)

It takes a while to load the Firefox window, but webpages load just as fast as without them. Or even faster, because I have no huuuge flash ads :)

I've been using it since it was called Firebird, I love it. Bon Echo, the 2.0 beta is a little flakey but does what I want.

Stumble Upon is the fucking best extension ever. Whenever you're bored, just hit the toolbar button and it takes you to a site that should be of your interest (according to the categories you selected upon registration). Anything interesting or funny pops up.
