I annoy myself because I have the affliction of starting sentences with "I'm not being funny but ..." Said it once in an interview for a job and the interviewer was a Psychologist. He said ... did you know when you said that it means that you are trying to soften the blow but really underneath don't care if what you say upsets people because you think it needs to be said. I got the job strangely enough but felt I had to watch what I said from there on in or I would get a mini Psych session each time I said something "telling"

Being an American who does not even come close to approving the job done by our current administration, every time I get into an even semi-political conversation with someone pretty conservative around here I'm told that I'm not being patriotic. Usually when they do that I just ask them if I'm really the one here not being patriotic, but they're too stupid to understand that question.

Last summer I had to wait in a hospital for couple of hours because of my infected ears (that sounds so sick in English ) and there was this woman who had three babies with her. One started crying and woke the other two and then they started crying. AND for some strange reason I had to wait my turn for two hours instead of 30 minutes that I was told.
