I liked them alot when they first came out into the mainstream because it was something we hadnt seen in a while,i pretty much stopped paying close attention when my 10 year old niece was wearing a slipknot hoodie.I still listen to them somedays,it brings something out in me most musicians cant.

Britney Spears is the percussionist for slipknot?

Where'd you hear that?

I enjoyed Slipknot very much some years ago. However, "Volume 3" didn't last very long for me. I keep coming back to "Iowa" actually(I mean, it's usually the most hated album), while the selftitled I barely listen to anymore. Oh, and that MFKR album.. Never liked it very much. I prefer Coreys voice to that other guy.

Slipknot are among the worst so-called metal bands (I say so-called because they're not metal) on the planet. So what if you've got 48 drummers? Hellhammer is better than all of them combined (as is Gene of course).

I had so much respect for you people too!!

See this is what I don't get, people who think "this band isn't metal"

I may not like Slipknot, but I can certainly see parallels between them and lots of bands who are described as "metal", they may not be "metal" in the traditional sense, but then neither are a lot of other bands. They certainly have a number of metal influences, so to avoid getting into one of those monstrous genre-siing things, is it not easier to just broadly group things as metal without taking offence at the term? Heck, even looking at arguably the least metal sounding of the nu-metal bands - Linkin Park, again, they have some metal influences and are not particular easy to stick in a genre, so if people group them as metal, I can't see what the problem with that is

I agree, they are metal, just not a kind that I really tend to enjoy as much as others. That's just my opinion on the matter.

However, I did used to like them very much when I was in high school. Stopped listening to them once I hit college though, although I'll still give their new songs a chance when I hear them, and while I don't like most of them, I don't really dislike it either, just eh.

As for that Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. album they put out, as a whole I don't really like that either, but there are two songs on there that I could listen to at any time and enjoy them. Bitchslap and Confessions are those two. Bitchslap is just something fairly humorous and, especially for the time, original, kinda a Mr. Bungle feel to it, and Confessions is a song that I feel there is a deep sincerity to, so I'll give it those props as well as having some cool instrumental parts to it.

I don't get Slipknot's music.

However, I can see why to some people, an album like "Iowa" would have the same meaning and value that, say, "Burn My Eyes" has for me.
