"Cheesy Peas! Brilliant!"

I'm a bit late to this but nobody does television comedy like the Brits.

I saw Bottom Live 3 in Manchester many years ago and I was literally crying with laughter by the time we walked out. Rik Mayall is hilarious.

I'll stick up for Little Britain as it cracks me so consistently up, but I agree that 2 series was plently. Fawlty Towers showed everyone how to do it: Get in, go hard and get out before it gets stale. I was so glad that Ricky Gervais didn't do a 3rd series of The Office. The christmas special put a nice little bow on things and he left it at that. So much better than the American TV comedy model of doing 10,000,000 episodes and eventually turning a good idea into a parody of itself.

Other faves not yet mentioned: Fantasy World Cup from a couple of World Cups ago, THE GOODIES!!!! (can't believe no one has mentioned them!!!), Alas Smith and Jones, Porridge, Open All Hours, The Royle Family, Borat (frankly I'm tired of Ali G), Dad's Army, George and Mildred, The Kumars and No, 42 (first series), Keeping Up Apperances, One Foot in the Grave, Alexei Sayle's Stuff, Absolutely Fabulous, Nighty Night, KYTV, Only Fools and Horses, The Two Ronnies, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Yes Prime Minister.

RIP the great Ronnie Barker.

A quick note to Aussies: Top Gear is now on SBS, Mondays at 7:30, replacing the also brilliant Mythbusters. Also, Ross Noble is doing a short stint on JJJ this summer, so get your fix while you can.

Baddiel and Skinner. That was great. I liked when David got into an argument with John Lydon...

Partway through watching Red Dwarf 7, a bit up and down. I actually thought Series 8 was better.

I absolutely worshipped The Young Ones...one of those shows where you could recite the entire dialogue.
For me, it always starts and ends here though:

(oh, and Ross Noble is hilarious!)

Aah, I totally forgot about Nevermind the Buzzcocks! My favourite moment is when they tried to get Phill Jupitus' team to work out the lyrics to 'Scum' by Napalm Death. Jupitus gave up after about 10 seconds and started singing something like 'I bought a lovely donkey at Whittington Fair' over the song

I actually literally bumped into Phil Jupitus when I was staying in London. The only reason I knew who he was, was that we'd been watching him doing some piss-take of The Count Of Monte Cristo on TV the night before...

How freaky is that?

Still trying to get it made, apparently. They seem to almost get funding every couple of years but it always seems to fall flat (The last 'investor' was this bloke in Australia who apparently turned out to be an absolute nutter).

Hopefully it'll happen someday, though I personally think they should make another series first - it's been a few years since Series 8 now, if they make the movie at this stage it'll make it all the harder to get people in the cinemas apart from the hardcore fans.
