I forgot about Bottom and the Young Ones, and about Shooting Stars and Nevermind the Buzzcocks. They're quizzes, so they're funny or not depending on the panel, but when they're on a roll it's quite amusing.

What was the name of the young, wonderfully sarcastic assistant ?
Boy, did I have a huge thing for her !

Also used to love the staged war reports - I bet that goes on, you know !

I need to get a multi-system DVD player so I can order the Gimme, Gimme, Gimme box set. One of the funniest shows I've ever seen. British comedy is the best in the world! Hands down.

My favorites are the obvious ones like Monty Python (and any spin-offs), Black Adder,Ali G, and Mr. Bean (fucking brilliant), but Gimme, Gimme, Gimme is hilarious, so was Are You Being Served?! Thin Blue Line is pretty decent, and there's plenty more that I can't think of. I've seen Coupling 5 or 6 times and I always find myself laugh my ass off. Unfortunately I haven't seen enough to make a final judgement.

The Young Ones was Canadian, right?

The Young Ones. British.

Featuring Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson who'd later work on Bottom. Another BBC show too.

If you haven't seen Bottom yet, try to. Knob gags and slapstick.

....and also work on the much maligned, often forgotten but always underated "Filthy, Rich and Catflap"

Bottom is brilliant - I came accross it by chance a few years ago. The live shows are violently classic.

We only get BBC America over here and it's hit or miss. Sort of sucks. I wish we'd just get everything.

I rather liked "Have You Been Served" for some reason, though the BBC version of "Hitchhiker's Guide..." was pretty good. Oh, and "Dr. Who" was funny, even if unintentionally.

My faves: League of Gentlemen, Spaced, Fast Show, Big Train, Reeves & Mortimer, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Young Ones/Filthy, Rich.../Bottom, The Day Today & loads more I've prob. missed.

I gotta say, it's nice to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't rate Little Britain. I wanted to like it, I really did, but I just found it to be a cross between a watered-down League of Gentlemen (Majorie Dawes IS Pauline from LoG) and a piss-weak Fast Show (Repeating characters/jokes, only not done as well)

It's even better to see BrassEye get some love! Welcome to Paedogeddon!
