I know American food vs Australian food is like excessive stuffing vs a balanced meal, but I love the excessive stuffing! I love the rich flavors, the greater variety, the fact that it's not as pricey. Besides, not everything back home is corn syrup and diabetes (much like not everything here is beer and Vegemite); plus hot sauces are more exciting there than here. That said, food here is nothing to complain about, unless the big supermarkets sell you rotting vegetables and call them fresh (this happened just recently with some "fresh" capsicum that looked good on the outside until I took them home and cut one open; fucking Woolworths).

Exactly, though my books and DVDs come along as well, taking up all the more space. But that's why I have them. :)

Noooo not the brown cheese - it's the devil's variation of cheese! Never could get used to it.

One thing I still have a stockpile of is piffi. I put piffi on everything!
Whaaaat? Brown cheese is the best. :D Though to be fair... I only know one non-native Norwegian who likes it. I suppose it's the "marmite of Norway". :P

Same. So far I've kept my CDs, Books and DVDs in my old room in mum's house (where I am spending my summers), but now she's bought a flat... uh-oh. :P

I love American food too. I miss it very much. Although my now-healthy blood pressure much prefers that I stay away from my American favourites except for special occasions.

Anything smoked, grilled or covered in a smoky hot sauce works for me! God I miss real clam chowder from New England too. On a chilly day in Boston that shit will make you feel like you're a hot water bottle wrapped in a bear skin. Talk about comfort food.

I never buy fresh produce from Woolies any more. Fuck those guys. We have a great f&v shop that costs literally less than half of what a supermarket shop does, and the quality is SO much better. Ditto butchers. Aussie produce is of such amazing quality and variety but you'd never know it if you didn't shop around.

Now, to roast a chook and make some butternut pumpkin soup!

Went to my sister's at the weekend, bro inlaw and his bro are marine technology scientists (or some bollox), and they use 3D printers for prototyping the equipment they make. They let me have a go-

Not really a random thought, but a kind of (for want of a better phrase!) random situation

So Lettuce and I have made friends with someone who we're HUGE fans of. It started out kinda "yeah, let's just see if we can meet them" and has turned into meeting up after shows, chatting and messaging and the like. To be honest we were almost puzzd about how quickly he became friends with us.

Anyways, turns out the guys is an actual fruit loop. Not in a "serial killer documentary" way, or in a "look how zany I am" way, but in a genuine "what? This is normal for me!" Way.

Example: rather than going through the hassle of purchasing travel sized toothpaste, when taking short trips with no cargo luggage, he uses hand soap or coffee grounds to brush his teeth. Or, rather than smell of ANYTHING during a workout, he rubs hand sanitiser into his armpits. Also, he had actually kept detailed notes on the changing of the weather and how it relates to the growth of weeds in neighbouring counties and lies awake at night mapping the historical repercussions of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. He also more or less keeps a detailed account of every sample/note/tune that Pharrell or Daft Punk have nicked.

To us, this kind of random analysis kind of endears us towards him more, as it's something we can relate to- I myself lie awake wondering why anyone would ever want a lead balloon other than to reenact the metaphor and thus it would go down quite well; and- if a set of identical twin boys marry identical twin girls and have children, on a genetic level, the kids would be siblings, not cousins.

You wanna throw in your loops, Violet? ;)

I think you summed it up pretty well babe. He's actually a little bit mad, I thought it was just part of the act but he's actually rather bonkers. Like, I thought Dev was a little nutty but he completely pales in comparison to a lad who has an anxiety attack if he doesn't think his cat is happy enough. It's definitely endearing though, maybe it makes me feel a bit less weird? Maybe that's why all my close friends are total nutbars so I look like the sound one?

Whatever we make of it, it won't be good.

If he did half of what he's been found guilty of, may his remaining days on Earth be unimaginably painful.

Edit: oops! Didn't notice that on my phone... The text was too small. Talk about a layout fail!

Well, didn't see that twist in the tale coming. How unfortunate...both because of the misleading part, but a sorry state of affairs when there are enough stories about paedophiles that this sort of coincidence isn't that surprising!

Seriously, it's a bit like finding out there isn't an Easter bunny

And as got nutty folk, sane people are boring!

Dear world,

The word versus is not a verb. Please stop using it as one.

Thank you.
