It only gets better the further you get into the series
I feel Last Airbender is more family entertainment than a kids show. You know, like Pixar. If you REALLY want to mess with your preconceptions then watch Madoka Magica. Madoka is a show that's absolutely not made for kids but on the surface looks like one. It has the best character driven storytelling I've ever seen done in 12 20-minute episodes. Plus amazing art and music.

Speaking of heat, we had a Mexican-themed lunch day at the office today. I brought some of my hotter chili sauce I got from California and convinced some people to have it (no complaints from those brave enough to try it).
Anyway, I also had some chocolate coconut roughs, and one of my colleagues dared me to eat some with the sauce poured on. I accepted and performed the act without hesitation, and enjoyed it. Some were revolted, others joined me and agreed how delicious it was.
