I've had only 5 hours sleep over the last 60 hours... and still am not particularly tired / struggling to fall asleep.

Anyone know of any methods to fall asleep easier/quicker that actually work?

You know, sometimes, I think bands managers (or whoever books their tours) are frickin' idiots. The Lamb of God/Dethklok/Gojira tour has a day off before they come to Denver from Texas, then another day off the day after before they come to Phoenix. I could give two shits about seeing Dethklok or Lamb of God (far less than two shits for Dethklok), but it seems to me from a financial standpoint that having Albuquerque literally on the way to Phoenix from Denver it would make sense to make a stop here. I have no idea about touring logistics or anything, but it just makes sense to me; if you have a day off, then another day off two days later, you would think you would want to book a show in that interim where you're making no money. Whether you sell out the Albuquerque show or not (which they definitely would) you're making money on a day where otherwise you'd just be sitting with your thumb up your ass. ESPECIALLY when you are literally driving right through on the way to your next show.

I don't get it at all, but shit like that happens all the damn time in this musical black hole I call New Mexico. Can anyone clue me in on what the logic is here, from a management standpoint? The mind boggles.

Cease rant :D guess I'll have to wait til Goira's next tour, where hopefully they're headlining.

It's booking agents and promoters. It's all to do with what's available and what's desirable. Like, in the UK on a tour, bands will definitely play London as it's the capital, and then the rest of the shows will more than likely be big cities with universities full of students that like music. There's a place about 40 min drive from me called Redhill in Surrey that do have bands playing (last saw Skindred there), and while they do have bands on and it's a big venue, larger bands tend to avoid Redhill cause it's an arseache to get to and no one's really heard of it...I would be fucking gobsmacked if Dev ever played there.

Turn your laptop off, being on it before bed keeps your brain active.

I can try to be someone else by trying to turn my weaknesses into not-quite-so-weaknesses, or i can be myself by recognizing my strengths and developing those to the point of mastery :D

Packing up my room, and was going through my GIANT stack of metal magazines. Oldest one I found was a now-defunct Metal Edge from August 2005. Cool.

Well, off to the recycling center with it.
