gozu wrote:actually that raises an interesting point... is it going to be a mass release to shops etc or is it an HDR type thingy?I'd imagine it'd be shop release like with Devin Townsend Band CDs.
Either way I'll probably end up getting it from HDR... I haven't seen a Dev album around here for 7 or 8 months. It was the Accelerated Evolution album, and I got it cos I wanted Project Eko. Not a sight of anything since. Stupid country.

I use to think the same when I lived in England. I would go to HMV and get annoyed there was never any Devy around. the HMV was in Basingstoke though, so that might explain a lot. It is isn't rap or Emo, the kids don't like it

All the CD stores in Victoria have loads of Devy though, it is awesome. I went into an HMV in Vancouver a few years ago and they actually had the Soilwork album on the end of an aisle, and had a big sign saying it was produced by Devin Townsend. Brought a tear to my eye
When Alien came out in May 2005 there was one copy available in Cork and I got it. No more Strapping til July of this year when they had a big section of Century Media albums selling for about €7.99... Now they only ever have one copy of City and one copy of the HAARHT re-release.
I wish I could have the pleasure of going into HMV/Virgin and saying "One Mighty Masterbator, please!", but it ain't gonna happen.

Actually, completely off topic, but something that really made me laugh when that blink 182 album "take off your pants and jacket" came out, my local virgin store had none on the shelf and a sign saying "if you want this album, you have to come to the counter and say "take off your pants and jack it please"" *giggles*

The fact that they probably won't have any copies of it - and most likely won't even have the slightest clue of what you're talking about - makes me want you to do it anyway. You won't go out of the shop with a new Devy CD, but with a story you certainly want to tell all of your friends!
Hm. Makes me think of a new topic.
My adventures with asking sellers for the Mighty Masturbator"
Sorry Dev - from now on it's definitely too late to change the title

I should've thought of that myself! Hmm, now I'm tempted to brave the weather and go to HMV...
you can go and ask for the mighty mastubator when its released as an ep/single
