I was wondering if there's one set up for Devin yet? If not I'd be more than happy to get involved with such a movement, as would many of my friends. I'm practically a walking advertisement anyway, but hey!

You know, I've said this before somewhere at sometime, but this is the kind of stuff Devin needs. I don't believe anyone has set up anything like this for Devin, but this is the best way to get his name out there and draw attention.

If I had more time on my hands, I'd be starting stuff up here in the states. Devin can definitely use the help over here.

Yeah that's the thing. His music has done a lot for me and made a massive impact on my life. I feel the need to spread the word and help in other ways since I already have all the CD's and whatnot.

If I was in London, I wouldn't mind putting up some posters every now and then near student places. I'll be there in October for Uni (hopefully) so let me know if there's anything.

I'd love to help with something like this. I live pretty near London, plus I have a bunch of friends who would be up for helping too.

There was talk on here a couple of years ago now discussing something like this happening.
A list of names and areas was done, but nothing ever came of it. Hmm...

the problem lies in the cash aspect... its all well and good having a street team but a street team needs promotional materials

there are lots of internet based japes and capers (incessantly emailing radio stations to play tracks, posting reviews of albums etc etc) that help, especially when they get more into a mainstream environment (that is to say getting radio 6 music to play a dev track, or even on the radio 1 rock show, is more mainstream than a finnish radio station online)

of course posters and flyers could be home produced, but they don't have the quality of real promo materials.

There is always the trusty option of playing dev music in the street to folk, but without other shit to pass to people who go 'mmm yeah i like it' it aint always the best

The label doesn't necessarily have to do the printing of materials, they can easily send .pdf's for flyers and posters for the team to print out. Promo CDs could be done in a similar way with Street Team only downloads so you can hand out samplers to local DJ's, radio stations, promoters, etc.
We could even just do some ourselves if we won't get in trouble for it. Maybe not the copying of music, but you know what I mean :P

I'd be all for some street team work, I work in a rock bar occasionally so organising promotion nights or just getting some tracks played would be on the cards with that place. I'm within walking distance of most the venues in town that have metal gigs so flyering won't be too taxing either.

you are, of course, correct. But cheap ass printed flyers don't have the same gusto as fully realised label goodness... however, every little does help

outside gigs is a good place to hit people that are into tunes.. some of 'em may even be fans of strapping yet not know that dev makes his own stuff.

I actually busk devin stuff and play it at open mic nights too already. xD

Honestly though I think they should really look at setting something up, he seems to be getting a bit more backing nowadays off his label, so perhaps now is the time to push?

People need to be enlightened!
