so let me get this straight... deconstruction started out as an EP, then expanded into a full album when the 4 album DTP was announced. then enough extra material came out to make Z2. then ghost kept expanding to have enough left over material for an extra EP. now both ghost and decon are gonna be double CDs? jesus christ. are they still gonna be released together? 4 CDs at once i think my head will explode. now is the decon 2CD going to replace Z2?

and hey, at least the labels approved the double albums after denying all the live album shit. really hope all these youtube videos make it onto the boxset.

Why would the double album of Deconstruction replace Z2?

Either way, I'm thrilled to know that there will be four discs to listen to come March. That's incredible.

Watch You sounds totally brilliant, and like it will really put some more perspective on the "heavy" Stand on Decon...
flute is amazing, literally dying to hear these two (double!!) albums.

Although I am definitely thrilled Ghost is going to be a double album and I of course totally respect its Devin's artistic decisions, I can't help feeling that two double albums will kind of make the DTP bottom heavy and will overshadow the first two records... I totally understand a 2 disc Decon as its the "main course" so to speak.
Definitely not complaining though, the more Devy the better, and I'm sure he'll make it brilliant! just my two cents.

Well, Decon's the main course and Ghost is the one Dev's wanted to make for quite some time, so to be honest if there were to be any double albums in his career, it'd be these.

I'm spending my days freezing in the rain shooting things (the army, ya know?) but the Ghost update made my day. Rock on Dev...

I've been going through some rough times recently, so this is the best news I've heard in a while. 2 double albums...just amazing. More music from you is never a bad thing Devin, especially since you have the creative output to pull it off, whereas most artists would fall flat. Can't wait for this and the tour. I've been anticipating it ever since the last time you were in SF. Considering how good you guys were then, this is sure to be mind boggling.

This is true. But i'm sure Dev knows what's best. If it means we get more of his best music rather than leave any out that's great. When I listen to Ki I usually include the unreleased 'oodles of noodles' jam and some others, which although unpolished is a great track and fits right in with the other quieter tracks. Perhaps its large 15 mins meant it couldn't fit, so if a double means we get everything great, it might well be necessary.

Truth. I reckon this is summed up in this recent tweet of his:

I have officially 'arrived' thanks to everyone who made this possible, I'd like to thank my family friends and wonderful audience

Oops, when I said I had 'arrived', I was jokingly referring to my horrible slug picture showing up on The Chive :)

I've been largely absent and am far too lazy to go trawling through the oceans of info that has manifested itself since I last entered this subforum so would anyone be so lovely as to gimme a quick summary of where things are/where they're going? I'll bake you a cake...

...I'll eat it myself, obviously, but I'll bake it in your honour. :)

Current status of Ghost: About 75% done. Will be a double-album, with the first disc being 10 tracks and 'Dark Ghost' being 7. Very subtle, beautiful music. There's banjo on some songs! Dev has confirmed female vocals as well. The tracklisting is also posted; no album art yet.

Current status of Deconstruction: To be resumed after the tour (though this was known). It is likely to also be a double album, briefly mentioned in the latest Ghost video (there are two Ghost videos that show snippets of songs)

Other stuff: Devin has a beautiful picture on The Chive. The Ziltoid DVD, and some other things he wanted to release got canceled (rather, weren't approved by the label). Devin is also looking for a new manager.

Feel free someone to scold me if I've left out crucial info.
