Agreed. I also think dev should do some sort of vocal duet with Warrel Dane (Nevermore), both of them can do a lot with their voice. I also wouldn't mind these singers as suggestions:

Daron Malakian or Serj Tankian (Dunno why but listening to ants off infinity reminds me of the weird songwriting of Daron and Serj's work.)
James Labrie
Burton C. Bell (Either a heavy one or progressive I think It would work)
Joe Duplantier

Like the other guy said these singers probably have different approaches to songwriting and styles and so some kind of conflict could occur (Sex and Religion?) but either way just my opionions.

For me Dev and Anneke was a dream collaboration.

In terms of a whole collaborative process though I'd love to see what would happen if Dev teamed up with Trey Spruance of Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, Asva, Faith no More etc.

Bring in some of the boys from Estradasphere too. The drummer and violinist.

Then back it all up with the boys from Alamaailman Vasarat. A wonderful Icelandic Metal, Folk, Jazz ensemble.

That'd be an album and a half I can tell you.

Devin you should really consider colaboration with Mike Patton. For me it would be great because these two gentlemen are my favorite musicians. The problem is how to accommodate that two really strong personalities like Townsend and Patton. But, hey, If there was a record that combines Mr Bungle and SYL's style with some PattonoTownsend's psychodelia I automatically go to the store and buy it, no matter how high the price is :D

I'd really like to see an album done by Dev and Ginger. My two favourite musicians combining forces to create something like that would just blow me away.

Garm, Ihsahn, Mikael Åkerfelt, Steven Wilson and also something with Mastodon would be cool too... Oh and with Kevin Moore!

Mike Keneally + Devin Townsend (both played with Gene Hogland and Steve Vai)
Scambot vs. Ziltoid

I couldn't imagine the sweet nerdy goodness.

It would be a dream.

Shit, I forgot all about Mike Patton, another one of my fav vocalist. I can just imagine it now: Mike Patton's vocals styles of stripsearch mixed with the ambient and beautiful melodies of Devin's Ki and even Terria.

i'd love devin to produce a Dream Theater album as their last few have been woeful attempts at being hip with their ridiculous metul Kerrang image. Portnoy's the only one who even listens to the type of music they're trying to emulate so Devin could hopefully teach 'em a few things and remind them of what they've forgotten. They used to be so good but they are cringeworthy now. More realistically speaking, it'd be great to have Gavin Harrison play on a Devin album.

Trent Reznor and David Bowie.
Although that's totally impossible, considering the "uncontactability" of both of them. But it's already been proven that Reznor and Bowie work well together, and with Devin on guitar and vocals... glaarghl. Actual dream.
Or Mike Patton. That WOULD kick ass.
And Lady GaGa would be extremely interesting.

Always wanted to hear a full on Elfman Industrial record.
The closest I've heard to the vibe I imagine from such a recording is the solo riffs in "Wrong Side"

The Synth sections behind the lines "say the word, and I'll be gone" are total Elfman.

As much as I'd love to hear it I'm not sure Patton/Townsend would work.
Not sure why, I love both men enormously yet for some reason I can't imagine the combination doing the business.
I may be wrong though, it's just a feeling I get whenever I think about it.

Defo think Trey Spruance is the way to go for a Dev colabboration. He's supplied Mike Patton with enough music, plays enough instruments and is proficient at many, many styles of play. He and Dev would release something very interesting indeed.
