Been driving around with Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory and He Is Legend - I Am Hollywood.
I forgot how much I particularly like that Oasis album.

It's very, very good. The Meshuggah similarities are extremely rife, but it works really well!
Heh, I can see this being a second favourite after "Around the Fur."
Mhmm

best one I think. Second half is pretty awesome.
(though I think somebody pushed "loud" lever a bit too far)

You are so right on all of these levels...especially the "loud" part. How in the heck are they getting so far past the waveform threshold? I don't get it.
If you put the songs I master into any DAW, the waveforms are almost solid. But with these guys, the new FF, etc...the waveforms don't look much different, but the sound is like 6 db louder. I can't get a handle on it...
Mastering engineers should get WAY more credit than they do...

I thought I've accidentaly borked my EQ settings or my headphones are dying. "Passenger" sounded bit nasty, but now they really take the piss, it's worst sounding record I've heard in a long time. I'd listen to it more if it wasn't so fatiguing.
By the way, they're either using samples from DFH or have the same kit as Tomas Haake, drums sound annoyingly familiar :>
