Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Nile - Those whom the Gods detest
Now this is broootal....Kollias is insane. Also, just the right amount of melodies baked in there to keep the album from being overcooked.

Yep. I don't think there is a drummer alive that can play a blast that fast without cheating. Also, he is doing all single strokes on his bass drums. He is inhuman.

Other than that, I wish they would ditch all that slow crap.

Watch videos of him in the studios. He swivels his foot, pretty sure Gene does the same thing.

NP: Karnivool - Themata

Really cool stuff, giving them a good listen right now.

Dredg - The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion

Despite the outcry from fans that it "didn't come close to being like El Cielo," I'm still listening to it half a year later. Not to say that El Cielo wasn't epic (it undoubtedly was), but I don't think some gave this album as much a chance as they should have. I just wonder if their next album will continue with TPTPTD's minimal use of swirling echoes, or if they'll respond to the fans and throw it back in.

Nile's drummer is terrible.

Yes he's bloody fast on the albums, but he's very sloppy live.

10,000 Days - Tool
Although I insist on listening to the entire 17 minute segment and just calling it Wings for Marie. Favourite song of the month, and first single song obsession since I was new to liking music, yay I guess.

Also, Kollias only sounds sloppy because he doesn't quantize.
