No. Assuming you're listening to stereo music, 2 speakers is optimal. And if those 2 speakers are good enough a subwoofer is not going to make it better.

Also, I rather like hearing and feeling the lower end of the music I'm listening to. I tried stereo speakers in the past and it didn't cut it. Had a cheap 2.1 for a while that was ok, but wanted better sound. My last 5.1 lasted long enough, and as I said but you obviously disregarded, I wanted a good 2.1 but couldn't find one to fit in the space I have nor one I liked that would fit.
Hell is waiting outside beyond these walls. It won’t save your soul to panic at this point.
