When it comes to metal, 'specially what we dig 'round here, though, vertually none of my friends the same age relate. There is still a big age stigma attached to metal intrest. I've gleefully defended loving metal 'at my age' many times

That's a good outlook. There is a fine line between feigning interest to be polite and really caring about someone elses' taste though it may be different eh? When the difference is too drastic, it gets harder to really be interested, ya know?
