That I could see working really well actually. :D

As can I. I like that one...

On the Portnoy/Dev/Akerfeldt/etc lineup...
You're putting Zakk Wylde in there? Why? He just does pentatonic stuff in a million different ways... the best stuff Zakk has done has been his acoustic/country stuff. Without a shadow of a doubt.

As far as random musicians go, here's a list;
Dev - Guitar, Vocals
Les Claypool - Bass
Brann Dailor - Drums

It would be insanity. But it would be awesome. :P I can see it being either really groovy, really technical, or just fucking bouncey as all hell.

Why did I put Zakk in? Coz to me he absolutely smokes as a guitar player, his sound is awesome and he writes cool riffs. That is all.

Ooooh.... I like the idea of Dev doing an all-acoustic album in general. Would be very interesting.

I don't see that working, as much as I idolise(d) both of them. Townsend is too sincere to work with Patton, who hasn't done anything without STRONG sarcastic/roleplaying undertones in the last..... forever. Patton's always had this attitude of "I know what I'm doing sounds good, but I don't give too much of a shit about it", which is the exact opposite of Townsend.

I think the only kind of collaboration that could be necessary with Dev is a nice female singer on a mellower type album (almost again-style). The lady from Sleepytime Gorilla Museums voice would go well with his.

His vocal range is too broad to need another male singer, and I reckon any musical input from anyone else would only distract Dev. He doesn't need it.

Misha Mansoor, aka Bulb.

I know Bulb loves Devy, so I'm sure he would be receptive.

Also, I'd love to see what Dev could do with a band like Gojira.

I love all of those musicians (especially Devin and Tuomas), but as a group it will be the biggest mess ever... :lol:
