Though there is a 5 hour drive each way. And its 4am. And we have had 3 hours sleep.
Yay?
You kidding? Those are the circumstances under which all good times are had!
So I just tried a pair of these 'Skull Candy' headphones I've been hearing so much about, met some guy at the mall who had them and gave 'em a shot. I was horrified on first impression, it was about the worst sound I've ever heard from any pair of headphones-- NO mids to speak of, and this HUGE boost of loose, warbly lows that just drowned out everything else. Then I found the 'bass enhancement' switch on the cord and switched it off-- sound fixed. Fairly balanced, decent sounding headphones all of a sudden. Grrrrrr. I can't say I will ever understand this stupid 'basshead' mentality of wanting to drown out EVERYTHING audible with a blanket of warbly thumping noise. It pisses me right off how someone can so willing ruin the quality of what they're listening to... and what's more consciously choose such a disastrous sound over something that's actually half decent, accessible with a flip of a goddamn button.
...Ack. I always feel twice my age when I rant about this sort of thing.![]()

I've been using SkullCandy headphones for quite sometime due to my lack of money, and yeah, they do sound like ass.
