I also seem to remember Synchestra at one time being described as one 70 minute song with a whole story.

Now, I know there's a theme running through the album but I think it would be a exaggeration to call it a story. And, I strongly disagree with anyone who would call it one big song. It's an awesome album but it's not fitting that description.

So, what am I trying to suggest? Well, I guess I'm saying you may not want to rub one out too quickly over the description The Dev gave us because it's likely as not to be true. Not that he's lying but that it just changes. The projects always seem to change and morph as he works on them.

I am looking forward to this new album. Ah hell, I will always look forward to a new release by Devin Townsend. But, this sounds really good.

No, it's not. It's just another opinion. For me Synchestra is as good as Terria and I come back to AE more often than to Infinity, maybe because of the Ocean Machine vibe on songs like Depth Charge and Deadhead. And yes, I still like Ocean Machine the most.
