It's (finally) a combi of syl and dtb, super heavy stuff, super pretty stuff, some ambient bits, some humor. No drummer...'drumkit from hell' (thanks Fred!) it's like a symphony or a musical...one long piece with a story and characters. won't be done for quite a while. I've started it, and I just want complete control this time. Tentatively called

This sounds really interesting, different, but I am always up for something different. Looking forward to hearing what effect the drum machine has on the overall feel (queue obligatory drummer joke!).

I like the tentative title. Hopefully the artwork wont be a devy version of Metallica's Load cover

I can imagine this crazy west coast snow storm is quite conducive to writing super pretty music, though it certainly isn't conducive to me going to work tomorrow.

w00t. I'm actually kinda happy it's apart from the DTB. I mean they're good, but neither AE or Synchestra compair to Infinity or Terria.

It's true what you say about these albums

No, it's not. It's just another opinion. For me Synchestra is as good as Terria and I come back to AE more often than to Infinity, maybe because of the Ocean Machine vibe on songs like Depth Charge and Deadhead. And yes, I still like Ocean Machine the most.

Interesting, Tomas Haake playing on a Devin Townsend album! Well, kind of.
Usually I prefer real drummers, but Drumkit From Hell has a great natural tone and there are a couple of albums with drum computers I really love (Gary Moore's Wild Frontier, Sisters Of Mercy's Floodland).
The musical concept sounds a bit like an extreme version of the Christeen + 4 bonus tracks, so bring it on!
