hey folks, if you look at the HDR main page, you can see this statement in the news:

--------------------------------

HDR NEWS
November 2006

The big news this time is that Devin and Tracy would like to announce the birth of baby boy Reyner Liam Johnstan Townsend on October 4, 2006, weighing 8lbs 10oz. Even if Devin took some time away from touring to spend some quality time with his new family, he kept himself busy. He finished the Hummer CD that is now on sale exclusively on the HDR website. Remember this is Devin’s second ambient album. Calm & peaceful noises to fall asleep to. Not for everyone.

Devin also started to work on his puppet show and even if for now there is no set timetable for the show, The first puppet is coming together with Devin just sculpting the finishing touches. He will work with many other people on this project (Travis Smith, Marcus Roger among others) and the show will relate stories of Ziltoid the Omniscient, an alien with ideas on destroying the Earth. Ziltoid will interview artists and musicians, seeking from them some reason not to blow up the world.

On this break Devin also find the time to film an instructional video (15 minutes) that will ve posted on the website later in the year and he also wrote 5 new songs for an upcoming project style (like Terria or Infinity) he hopes to record Spring 2007.

To finish, in February 2007 Devin will start production for the new Darkest Hour album in Vancouver. He will also mix this record.

---------------------------

Now what a day! Fist I post here in general discussion, that my two most eagerly awaited releases for 2007 are Pain of Salvations "Scarsick" and the new Explosions in the sky album, then I find 30second samples of the Scarsick album, as well as one brand new song by EITS and now THIS? Wow this day can't get any better....

Anyways share your thoughts, feelings and anticipation

say what...Infinity + Terria? How am I supposed to sleep at night now Dev?

ah right...that's why you released Hummer beforehand, thank you :P

From the actual newsletter

While Strapping Young Lad and the DTB are on hiatus for a while, on this break, Devin has already written five new songs that don’t fit in with either. He hopes to record a full album in project style (like Terria or Infinity) in Spring of 2007.

Doesnt fit in with either, so that means it not DTB. Just Devin Townsend :)

didn't order anything from HDR lately (except for the Hummer, but it hasn't arrived yet), so I didn't know about that. Either way is fine, it's still Devy music and I'm SO looking forward to this :)

That will teach those people on last.fm that I have been arguing with. Some people are arguing that they should merge Devin Townsend releases with the Devin Townsend band. I argue otherwise, but they never get it...

So POS have samples up on the site? I will have to go download them. Yaay!

I've all mine under Devin Townsend, but it's only for storage on my iPod. I don't see why anyone would petition for merging the two, but I don't see the point in arguing back either. Each to their own setup, I s'pose.

If the new albums scheduled for recording in spring, how long til it'd be available? Impatience is going to be fierce hard to deal with next year... :?

Is it incredibly sad that that news made me happier than pretty much anything else has for a long time? :)

Thanks very much. This is going to be sweet. Especially in conjunction with just finding the 1993 demo on soulseek. Sweet!

I'm not really that bothered that bothered what they tag it. It is just that people keep telling me I should be tagging everything under DTB, which is really annoying.
