Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

2 full sets, no opening band, throat and neck we're extremely sore the next morning!

Aah, I need to see them again so badly! They can't go wrong, eh?

Well I recommend their live show for sure, even my non-metal buddy came along and he had a blast!

We saw Seasick Steve the other night... He was headlining Arthur's Day (ie: massive piss-up day invented by Guinness to obligate stupid Irish people to drink stout and give them loooooooads of money) here in Cork and I went in with pretty high expectations and STILL got totally blown away by how good he is live. I have all of his albums and like them but the songs are a totally different animal from a stage... For a man of 70 he certainly doesn't shy away from putting in an energetic performance, and Dan Magnusson his drummer has to be one of the best I've ever seen as well. I'll be making every effort possibly to see him every time I can from hereon out. Unbelievable night. :D

Saw Enslaved on Wednesday...WOW! They were fucking AWESOME! Definitely one of the best shows I've seen all year. They sounded fantastic and played a great mix of new and old stuff. LOVE them <3

Vocalist is a bouncer at the local rock/metal pub, 20 feet from where I live. :>>> And they put on a good show indeed.

Saw Pink Martini not so long ago. I was surprised to see so few people my age (I mean 20-30).
What a shame. Ok you're not exactly jumping in the pit, stage-diving and throwing metal horns, but those guys can play, and the replacement singer can sing (Storm Large, apparently originally a punk singer)

Sorry, just saw this and I have to admit to a bit of jealousy. Would love to catch Steve live. If the live recordings are anything to go by it must be one helluva show.

Replacement singer? I saw them a few years ago, they were great.

Copied from facebook because I'm FUCKING TIRED.

Dana's Hexallon on here, if only she'd fucking post.

"Gig tonight. Pretty fun, Katatonia were awesome and In the White and Omerta away from basically being my favorite setlist. Opeth weren't as good as Katatonia in my opinion, but were surprising considering I'm not the hugest fan of their new album. It works very well in the live setting. Also their acoustic portion was pretty nifty as well.

I showed up alone, but Dana Maria, ended up deciding to trek all the way to the gig after all. As I left the gig to come wait and meet her at the door, I bought a bottle of water and ran into Jonas Renske and Niklas Sandin as Jonas basically went up to the bar and bought a couple of beers. I chatted with them for a second, about the gig, their new album (Next year!) and when they'd headline the US again (shortly after the album). We talked about the gig at Thee Parkside, which essentially was one of the smallest venues they've played in. I told em it was a hell of a gig. Jonas suggested we drink. But I had to go let Dana in, as that'd be a dick move if I didn't.

So I said goodbye, shook their hands, and let Dana in, as she promptly pulled me by the arm (there were only 3 Opeth songs left) and I tried frantically to explain that Katatonia was at the bar. They laughed and raised their glasses. We went into the gig, and admittedly, Opeth's encore was probably the best part of their set.

Good night."

Yup', from wikipedia : "On June 21, 2011 Pink Martini announced that China (Forbes) is taking an extended leave of absence from performing for at least one year to undergo surgery on her vocal cords". (And then you have Devin screaming every other night, and getting better at operatic vocals :P )

Storm Large is a tall blond (and rather sexy) woman. According to fan opinions, she may have looked kind of eccentric at first, almost out of place. Well, when I saw them I reckon she was wearing a higher low-cut than on some videos on youtube, so she may have soften her style a bit^^. I thought she looked rather classy in a long red dress. And close to headbanging on Brazil :D

Can't compare their vocals, as I haven't seen China Forbes live. I thought Storm Large was great.

A band called Fat Burning Step. Dubs, dnbs and dubsteps, all with proper instruments instead of boring people with laptops. There's bass guy surrounded by impressive amount of electronic equipment, trombone guy looking like accountant and lady vocalist with impressive voice. It was nice.

They look and sound like that:

There was also an afterparty with girl vocalising her tits off and another one playing saxophone to heavy dubstep tracks. It was odd.

A band called HOLY FUCK...they're a pretty ridiculous psych rock/electronic outfit from canada. they make techno sounds, but it's all done with seemly-organic mechanical items that somehow made rhythmic noises.

And their show was FUCKING GREAT :D I'm absolutely gonna be there next time they're around.

As for my recommendation to you, if you're at all a fan of Project EKO, check them out via youtube. Different sound but a very similar, amazing vibe. They know their craft, it's awesome.

Dev. Gig was excellent and I've already whined enough, as it totally salvaged an awful night and made it so much better to just get lost in the music for a minute.
