Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Ok. Not quite sure where to start -
but last night I saw Porcupine Tree at the Warfield.
Setlist:
ALL OF THE INCIDENT, IN ALL IT'S GLORY!!!
10 minute break:
1. The Start of Something Beautiful
2. Buying New Soul
3. Anesthetize Part 2
4. Lazarus
5. Strip the Soul
6. .3
7. Bonnie the Cat
Encore: Mother and Child Divided, Trains

I had always wanted to see Strip the Soul/.3 live, and never had; finally seeing the two live, made me really really really happy. SO happy. :D
Ok - so Steven Wilson is fucking scary when he stands DIRECTLY above you and stares down at you while playing some down-tuned-as-hell riff. I was right in front, like I was leaning on the stage- and about 3 times, he'd stand over the edge of the stage and he'd just stare down at you. He was so close, and my friend poked his toe. He was directly above me.... right there, completely grabbable. I wouldn't have, but I wanted too :help:
I watched Colin 80% of the time - I couldn't believe it, he used his fretted Wal most of the time, the fretless Wal a couple times, and the Spector only once for pt. 2 of Anesthetize. Wals all around!! At the end I gave Colin a thumbs up and he gave me a thumbs up, Wes smiled. That was pretty cool, front and center is the way to go. Anyways, flawless show, one of the best ones I've ever seen. Circle of Manias was NUTZ. Wilson, only inches away  :D

Trivium, Whitechapel, Darkest Hour and Dirge Within @ The Orbit Room, Grand Rapids, MI

Well for one, it was a free ticket...so don't shoot me Trivium haters (*cough* Biert). Dirge Within was stupid. Totally pointless In Flames rip-off crap. When is this gonna end? The singer was alright. His scream had a bit of melody, but...heard it all before 689689789 times. Next.

Darkest Hour fucking owned. Yeah, they too play In Flames rip-off melodic metal, but they have been doing it forever...and the conviction they play it with is honest. They have nothing to prove to anyone, and they aren't trying to. They also write great songs that are totally memorable. Sweet dual solos...good shit. Not to mention the best beards in the building, and not a single emo haircut or tight jeans. Best band of the night.

Whitechapel. Gawd. Pointless. Again. Ditch that stupid third guitar player, will ya guys? Once again, the drummer was sloppy as shit and his bass drum triggers sounded totally thin. EVERY breakdown groove was the same. I just don't get it. HOARDS of stupid kids eat this up, with their short billed beanies, tight jeans, and size small Whitechapel shirts. But damn, some of them (fans) were downright gorgeous...leaving me utterly confused.

Trivium harks back to the glory days of metal with their image, and overall aura. Matt Heafy has grown his hair out, and leaves me reminded of James Hetfield by way of Kirk Hammett's hair. It was pretty cool. The music was tighter than my Dad's wallet. The sound was flawless. The energy was infectious. Every vocal harmony was perfectly executed and in key. Problem is, I didn't FEEL anything from their songs. They do a great job sidetracking their audience with a flawless performance to make up for their mediocre songwriting. I would watch them again, but I am glad I didn't pay for it. Overall, better than sitting at home, and a good excuse to hang with a long lost friend.

Megadeth, Machine Head and Suicide Silence in November!!

It was the "middle part" which starts aroun 6:16 or so, the really heavy entrance. And it ended right before the last part of the song... "water sooo warm that daaaay..." it was ridiculous, I wasn't expecting it at all. DID I MENTION THAT SW's CROTCH WAS IN MY FACE?! Just thought I'd remind you all... in case you forgot. What a sight to behold.

I'm disappointed, you're not even trying to go for the sexual innuendos anymore. You're just putting it bluntly out there. What is the world coming to...

About time someone got their crotch in your face, too :P The fact that it was a girl... Well I've had my suspicions for a while ;)

(Sorry Abydost, seems your chances are blown once again)

Yeah, it's not fun anymore now that she's not being subtle.

Let's stop giving her attention. ;)

Pardon, yeah it started with the last couple seconds from pt. 1 and then really just went full force into pt. 2 It was awesome.

lol! I used to be subtle? :o It's a big deal when it's SW. I think you all are just jealous.
It's also worth mentioning that Colin Edwin really rocked out during Mother and Child Divided? I've never seen him ROCK out... have you? Smiling, eyes closed, gentle swaying - that's about as far as it goes. But during his little groove near 2/3 through the song, dude got really into it.
The fact that it was a girl... Well I've had my suspicions for a while ;)

Suspicions that "IT" was a girl!? Did I just called an "it?" Did I understand that right?

Minus the whole girlish body, girlish hair, girlish singing voice(at times)...

But you know I love just about everything he's ever done musically.
