Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Born of Osiris - more than a year ago.
Terrible, and dissuaded me from buying any of their releases.

I can already hear Alucard's response to that.

Atheist - They were outstanding despite the lack of original members, but I suppose after such a long time (and the death of the original bassist) that it'd be difficult to maintain the members of the band. It was awesome meeting Kelly Shaeffer and witnessing Tony Choy tear it up on bass, though.

So glad that I actually got to see them. Legends.

They arent for everyone, and their first release was quite generic. Their new one has more variety and less breakdowns, which is good to me. They moved more into the technical metal genre.

I just saw this band live tonight. Funky. Very fun. The guitarist Ryan and I get along well.

it was quiet heavy and the support was quality. From time to time, even funny.

Enjoyed the show.

I actually got to see them do a show here last year. It was only them too. We had to wait about an hour and a half INSIDE the venue before they came on and we were outside for upwards an hour. But dammit it was so worth it. One of the best shows I've ever been to.

This show hasn't happened yet, but holy shit!

I just checked out all the bands opening for Edguy on September 13th. Here's the line-up, myspace links attached:

Edguy
Epicurean
Luna Mortis
Shield Of Wings
Something Beautiful

Every band on this list is at least "Really good". 4 of them place in the "Fucking Sick!" category (Luna Mortis is a bit lacking for me).

By the way, the last two are local, relatively undiscovered bands, but they're incredible. That's my city!
