Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I think we can safely put this debate to bed and be sure it is definitely a Nosferatu shirt, despite Biert's less-vampirey Katie Melua shirt's similarities.

Back to the topic.. Eh.. I haven't seen anyone live recently. But I am going to Firebird in June. And they were very good last year. So high hopes!

Sab wishes he had Biert. Biert is more single than anyone on the forums though.

Or don't you have something going on with Abydost, Sab... one of those other blokes? Don't want to tread on their territory

he wishes. Lars is my true honey bunny <3

Nah that's just a legal thing, you shouldn't think anything of that.

Sab is a dreamer and Abydost can't afford me ;)

A shitload today. Not even going to mention most of the crap local bands.

Bury Your Dead - Put on a good show, they've changed A LOT since their earlier albums. Funny thing is I've been to about 3 shows where they were going to play, but never stayed to see them.

Spineshank - So glad I finally got a chance to see these guys. I really got into them back when they broke up! Glad they got back together, they were great and really killed in their set, everyone loved it.

Chimaira - 3rd time seeing these guys, always put on a great show. Wish they played more old stuff though, they really seem to neglect it now =/

Lacuna Coil - First time seeing these guys, they were damn good. Cristina, their female vocalist, is incredible live. Plus smoking ass hot!

Killswitch Engage - Last time I saw these guys was back in about 04. They've changed so much since. Seeing them on a big stage was much much different than the club I saw them in last time...Adam is still a goofball though, that made the show better. Them closing with "Holy Diver" provided massive lulz. Especially because the weird screen they had showed a fucking tiger at certain spots in the song...epic lulz.

Disturbed - Now, these guys are totally mainstream and not exactly my style. But I did get into this show for free through connections. They were damn good actually. They have a great stage show (even if it is supposedly choreographed) and really got the crowd going throughout. I do think these guys are better than a lot of mainstream acts, but they still arent near my favorite.

The Number 12 Looks Like You, Misery Signals, and Protest The Hero.

The Number 12 - Interesting music, annoying singer. I give the guitarist and drummer credit because they were both rather inventive, the bassist sat well with them as well. The singer was the major draw back, bland and unoriginal.

Misery Signals - Incredible. Only word I can think of to describe them. Just as much energy as the last time I saw them, only a longer and considerably better set. They played basically every song off Controller save for 2. Amazing set, awesome energy. These guys know how to put on a show.

Protest The Hero - What can I say. These guys are fucking flawless...They hit everything perfect. The singer isn't 100% perfect, obviously, but he does incredibly well in a live setting. These guys were awe inspiring to watch. They did a great job mixing up old and new songs and played almost all of Fortress. Opened with Bloodmeat too! I couldn't think of a better way for them to start their set, unless it was Sequoia Throne(which was their last song actually)

Overall, incredible show. Worth the money and worth the annoying slipknot kids who kind of knew who Misery Signals and The Number 12 were, the show was excellent even with them there.

Alright, saw Opeth last night.

Hell yeah.

Setlist:
1 Heir Apparent
2 Ghost of Perdition
3 Godhead's Lament
4 Wreath
5 Credence
6 Hessian Peel
7 The Night and the Silent Water
8 Closure
9 The Lotus Eater
10 Encore:
11 Demon Of The Fall

Here are some crappy cell phone pictures. Last year I got quite good pictures, because I was in front. Not so this time, I was upstairs in the balcony - the pit of douchebags was immense, and I was not digging it. Unfortunately, I was on the wrong side of Mendez to get a good view, but after a while I could see him. Sometimes he would drift over to the other side where you could really see him. So sorry about the crappiness of the pix, but hopefully you can get the flave of what it was like.

You can see Mendez's white bass here, and of course that epic "O". For maybe 2 or 3 songs he played a five string, but it was mostly the white one here.

I can't remember for the life of me which song it was, but he slapped for 30-seconds or so - I'd never thought I'd see the day when that happened
At one point, they just sort of jammed out, and they played some Jimi Hendrix licks, and I swear I heard Stinkfist in there too. Maybe it was unintentional (?) but it was the same Stinkfist bassline. :D

Akerfeldt cracked jokes, he was hilarious. He made a crack on Axenrot near the end - he also said that Mendez was a pretty laid back guy, but "sometimes... ... .... he's a little bitch."

Sorry about the length. There's not enough hours in the day to explain how awesome it was.
