Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Damn that sounds like a good line up (to me at least...)

I went to the Prog Nation tour here with 3, Between the Buried and Me, Opeth and Dream Theater

3-Much better than I expected, I will have to start listening to them
BTBAM-Amazing as usual. 3rd time seeing them and they've never let me down.
Opeth-Fucking brilliant. First time getting to see them after being screwed out of seeing them 3-4 times. Great set, but could have been better. Flawless as usual and Axe is a surprisingly good replacement for Lopez. He doesnt have the same feel that Lopez had, but he's getting there with it.
Dream Theater- Stayed for 2 songs(had a 2+ hour drive home...) But from what I saw they were great. Almost too good. Their intro was so pompous it was sickening though. Rudess was the one who impressed me the most...god that guy can fucking play a keyboard. Portnoy's drum set was bigger than most cars/pick up trucks.

Next show that I know i'm going to will be Dethklok/Chimaira/Soilent Green on July 1...cant wait!

The last band I saw was Devil Driver and none other than the gods of grind Napalm Death wich was the amin reason I went to the show. A lot of people were really ranting and raving the words " Napalm Death" quite a bit. And it was a good turn out for the night. NApalm Death was nothin short of being the best live. I love grind.

Saw Dark Intentions, Brutus, Exivious and Textures on Friday. Textures were fucking great :D I took the opportunity to test my new video camera and the result was quite satisfying. Although the sound is crap :(S I'll see if I can post some on YouTube later.

EDIT: Here's "Awake":

I just got back from Kayo Dot, AMAZING!!!!
there were like 15 people in the audience so it was really nice and quiet, people whispered between songs instead of talking very loud. I got to talk to the violin player Mia before the concert, she's really friendly and also pretty cute haha!

I caught the Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium on Sat (June 7th) with 90,000 others!

The gig was tasty, with the added bonus of Jimmy Page from Led Zep doing the encores! 8) 8)

Saw Firebird in a pub in Cork about a month ago. Mr. Steer and Co. brought the fucking house down. Absolutely brilliant night and the three lads in the band are the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Bill was saying he'd much rather be playing a pub in Cork with Firebird than playing Wacken with Carcass.. They delivered something fierce that night though. Brilliant.

Even though he's not a band I saw Billy Connolly live at the end of May. One of the greatest nights of my life. I'd be waiting so long to see him and had lost all hope of him coming to Ireland and then BAM, big tour announced and 6 hours in the driving rain and cold later I have near-front row seats. And it was so worth it..

I saw Prog Nation a few weeks ago.

3 was absolutely fucking amazing. I'd only heard a song or two before the concert, and I honestly wasn't expecting much. They blew me away! As far as sheer performance and sound quality, they probably stole the show. Got to meet Joey and Chris after the show, bought a copy of their new album/dvd and got'em to sign it.

BTBAM, I wasn't expecting much out of. I think they're probably one of the most "over-rated" (as much as I hate the term) bands around these days. They opened with Selkies, which was cool, but the vocalist is horrible (both live and on CD) and the rhythm guitarist seemed a bit behind. Least favorite part of the night...ironically, the guitarist gave his pick to me. Har.

I've seen Opeth before, and they definitely lived up to their last show. The set-list was pretty good (absolutely no songs from the last time I saw them, both awesome and disappointing, considering they played such amazing songs last time!) The energy was amazing with both the crowd and the band. Mike's always entertaining live! Heir Apparent, along with The Drapery Falls were the highlights, without a doubt.

Dream Theater are pretty much gods as far as playing live go. It's absolutely insane how well they play such complicated parts. Their set list was abso-fucking-lutely incredible, and is the sole reason I enjoyed their set more than Opeth. I went in expecting almost all "new" songs, but got a nice surprise when they played Erotomania, Voices, Misunderstood, and the Metropolis pt. 1, Learning to Live, A Change of Seasons medley. Petrucci's rig sounded like it was a lot louder than it needed to be, or it could have been that I was on the rail right in front of him...

Incredible night!

Catched Carcass and At the gates at Sweden rock festival. Both great, but ATG were at the top of their game. I've seen The haunted a few times but the Björler brothers never rocked this hard. All smiles, headbanging their asses off, commanding the crowd into circle pits. I was able to shoot a few vids with my camera, I shall try to youtube them for those interested.
