The new Periphery is actually very awesome. Their songwriting grown in ways I could've never imagined. I'd love to hear Dev produce these guys if he ever got back into producing.

Yeah I have to totally agree, Periphery II is (unexpectedly) awesome. I've never been a massive fan of Spencer's vocals though but he's not done too bad a job. Just glad that when I saw them live we got an instrumental set.

Well, recently I forced myself to broaden my horizons a bit by systematically listening through the entire Rush catalogue after where I left off with Moving Pictures back in the day, and by listening I mean I bought the CDs and put each one on heavy rotation for several days, even if it didn't grab me on first listen. And I found a lot of stuff I really enjoyed tbh. And a lot more that is still growing on me.
So, buoyed by the success of that experiment, I have moved on to working my way through the Dream Theater catalogue, forcing myself to retain an open mind to LaBrie's voice. And i must confess, now I am getting past my kneejerk reaction to the dulcet tones of Mr L, I am really beginning to enjoy some of this stuff as well.
