i'd love to show you the album version because live versions are not often a good introduction, but for crap's sake. i've seen him do this song live 5 or 6 times now. every time it gets more brutal. some of you might be familiar with 16 horsepower, this is the singer's current project. he looks like a hipster, but he's batshit fucking insane. his voice is gorgeous. he does this dark americana stuff, but he's thoroughly steeped in post-punk and experimental music. most of what he's done under this name has been dripping with atmosphere, very dark for how light and open it is and ranges from creepy to fucking terrifying. so lush.
