Yeah, whether they're serious & trippy like Oblivion, or Goofy & weird like Sleeping Giant & Curl Of The Burl, which I might add is the most infectious song I've heard in years.

It's such a weird one for them, too, sounds more like a Corrosion Of Conformity track, or ZZ Top on steroids.

I find myself doing the creepy pelvic dance Brent did on Letterman when I listen to Curl of the Burl. Especially during that part lol.

Yep, that The Bangles. I'm re-evaluating them and really enjoying what I am finding. Vicki Peterson was a solid guitarist and Micki Steele a really tight bass player. A girl group of great musicians fusing jangly sixties pop with an 80's garage vibe. What a shame the media/label pushed Susannah Hoffs as a pop pinup and the other three looked like blokes in drag. If Hoffs had been less cute they would have been a cult band. Check out some of their early live footage. And their version of Hazy Shade of Winter from Less than Zero still knocks Simon and Garfunkel's into touch.

I've never been able to get into Focus/Traced in Air, but this... this was really good. I hear a lot of King Crimson (circa Discipline/Beat/ToaPP) in some of the guitar work; overall, sounds very promising. Guess I'll have to add this to my list of end-of-year purchases...

Astonishingly, this very idea appeared in the ragged recesses of my cranium a couple of days back.
