just got back from the Party.San festival. It was.....WEIRD. This has been my 11th festival and it has been by far the most disgusting one! OK, it did not smell as bad as Wacken did but there was mud EVERYWHERE and tons of it. It has been raining mosly...except when I saw Red Harvest....thank you weather gods! Speaking of Red Harvest, they were awesome!! 1st row, biaaatch! Was my second time seeing them and they again blew me away. They played 'Antidote'!!! How fucking cool is that? The set was 45 minutes long and it kicked lots of ass! I also saw Melechesh. They were great as well. The 2 guitar players in that band really know how to play their instruments. Then I saw some of Secrets of the Moon's gig which was very cool too. One of the better Black Metal bands. Saw some of Immolation's gig....that wasn't really good. Saw some of Gorgoroth's gig. Musically it was great...but the show...what a bunch of posers. And Ghaal, or whatever his name is, is a dumbass anyways. I heard Kreator's gig...geee....horrible! Their singer really did not do a good job that night. Then I heard Grave play...that was pretty cool. I think I will have to buy their latest CD. Primordial sounded pretty cool too. Ronny watched their gig as we were selling stuff and he said it was one of the best shows he has seen in a long time. Asphyx sounded pretty damn cool too. Never listened to any of their stuff before and I heard their music is not so great on CD due to not-so-good production but live they did kick ass. Heard Vader too...shame I did not see them. It did sound great! The Black Dahlia Murder were pretty cool too...watched some of their gig. I'm not a big metalcore fan but they are one of the good bands of that genre...and they are more Death Metal than Metalcore anyways. So yeah...musically it was a pretty damn cool festival!

Yesterday one guy tried to steal 2 Electic Wizard hoodies from us. Well, to make a long story short....he got kicked off the festival and spent a night in jail :D

The Party.San festival had problems with those NSBM-dumbfucks over the past year but this year they finally made some necessary changes. There were Anti-NSBM shirts sold (I of course bought one...it says "Party.San against NSBM...keep nazi scum out of metal"), some Black Metal heads produced an Anti-NSBM Black Metal compilation with BM bands from all over the world...I bought one of those too. Part of the money goes to an organization that helps victims of Nazi violence. Oh and I bought a very cute shirt that says 'Against Burzum' with a smurf on it saying " CRUSH KILL DESTROY NSBM" on the back. That was so funny, I had to buy it. And I'll have to take pics of it too! (Sorry Nic, I know you love Burzum...but this shirt is the shit!!)

In total I bought 14 CD's...yes, I am crazy but you would buy so many too if you got them for retailer prices :D I'll post the list in the Recent Purchases Thread.

I survived this festival much better than Wacken last week. But I feel pretty wrecked anyways! So yeah, that was my little festival report!

Dude, glad you enjoyed Red Harvest.

Where is Apophis when we need him, eh?
He was a huge R.H fan...remember his tattoo?

:o but the drummer is psychotic!

Saw The Cure last night.

Awesome stuff. They played for 3 hours and did alot of disintegration (my favourite album of theirs). I wish theyd of played more or Posnography but just One Hundred Years alone was great. Highlight song of the night was The Kiss.

saw Behemoth yesterday....and they ruled, of course. There weren't too many people present so there was a nice family-like atmosphere and we were pretty close to the stage. And Nergal is actually pretty funny!

Tool- Good live, but didnt give the crowd nothing. I think Maynard spoke once when they were done. Was quite disappointed as thats my favorite part of live shows, when they work up the crowd.

I saw Oceansize last night. They were amazing! They played so tight and the sound was so great, it was just like on CD but more intense.

Usually there's something to complain about the sound during live shows. It's always too loud to make things out, and poorly mixed. Yesterday was just perfect though. (For us at least. The singer was having a fit at the sound guy because his monitors weren't right).

Alter Bridge last night. I'm officially in love with Myles Kennedy. What an incredible talent and frontman. Absolutely one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Band was spot on, great venue, fun (packed!) crowd...it was just perfect. Myles even sang Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah with just himself and his guitar. Beautiful. Another Animal opened for them - members of Godsmack, some guy from Dropbox, and Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe), and they rocked as well. Funny guys. :D

What a freeking-super-doopfabulous-oo night! 8)

All I've got's our local, sort of nameless, band who entertained us greatly on Saturday night. You really haven't lived until you've heard The Cult's 'Seashell Song' played on a piano accordian. :D

Oh, and the bass guitarist provided extra entertainment when he accidentally stuck the end of his guitar into an electric heater and promptly panicked incase he got an electric shock.

Excellent night!
