I was really impressed with Mastodon at Sonisphere. I've known of them for a while, just never got hooked by the small amount I'd heard by them enough to properly check them out.

For some reason, I always thought Bret Hinds was the lead vocalist (I know they all sing, but...), and had never seen/noticed Troy Sanders in pictures/videos (not that I'd seen many)... and while I know that of course, it's the music that counts... I thought Troy LOOKED fucking immense on stage. With his Bass down quite low... the way he had his mic slightly lower so that he looked down onto it, but then looked up to the crowd with his squinting eyes when he sang, and the way his eyebrows went up but still having a frown when he did that... topped with an awesome beard...

I dunno... he just looked awesome, lol.
