Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

you dont need a reunion with the cavaleras when the music is kicking ass like this

by the way. is it just me or has this TesseracT band been flogging the same bunch of songs for the past 5 years or so?

Never been able to get into that album at all, & I like Derrick Green-era Sepultura. Roorback, Dante XXI, & Nation are far better imo.

Loving it, but they could have left out the growls imo.

I remember the first time I heard a track off that album (last September, I think) and I was like 'Damn, that's LABRIE?!' when the growling came in. I'm not the biggest Dream Theater fan, but I got really excited, for a second - Portnoy wasn't gone at that point, and I'd take anything over his 'growling' any day... they nearly ruined otherwise good songs when they forced it in; A Nightmare to Remember comes to mind, for me. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed when I found out that it wasn't LaBrie behind the harsh vox... because it actually doesn't sound half bad, IMO.

As for myself, I'm digging this right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp-xd43JKJ8

Even if you're not into the whole 'djent' thing, I'd still recommend you see them. Take from that what you will. :)

Yep that's my favourite song of them aside of these little things with sax (why did they ditch the sax? :(). I'm really puzzled why bands drop the saxophone after successful usage. Protect by Hacride is amazing, Textures' Transgression has a nice bit of solo too - and they never used the instrument again. Warum? :(

I agree hearing the same stuff over and over again gets kinda tiring and disagree with "they're doing nothing that hasn't been done better several years ago". Because, by who, exactly? Meshuggah or special defects weren't exacly ambienty bands with emphasize on vocals after all.

Love? by SYL. Gah I miss rocking out to this with The Lad. That and the strut Devin did during Skeksis. Mind you I can mime most of it but still... going to Strapping shows was my thing from 03-06.

Was about to go to bed when I heard this

I did a big project last semester about this image to audio technique and had some epic trouble trying to find ways around about 8 pieces of software to make it work. And I've just found these guys, taking the idea from Aphex Twin (as did I, although not initially), and there were links to this kit called Photosounder.

I'm in love...
